2015 Master Builders Regional Apprentice of the Year Awards

On Thursday 19th March, the Master Builders Association of Victoria held the 2015 Regional Apprentice of the Year Awards for the South West Section at The Carmichael, Warrnambool. Over 80 apprentices, family members, employers and training organisation attended the evening to celebrate and reward the hard work and commitment each of the apprentices has put into their training during 2014. all Award nominees were presented with a Certificate of Merit and the winners will now be invited to compete for the State Apprentice of the Year Award.

Elton is a mature-aged apprentice who began with a successful career in the mining industry before deciding to change course. starting as an apprentice cabinetmaker, Elton then decided that his passion was carpentry. His desire to succeed and to be the best apprentice possible, coupled with a fantastic work and training ethic, positioned Elton for the possibility of early release from his apprenticeship. Elton is a standout apprentice who has proven that it is never too late to follow your dreams.

Ethan is an apprentice in Off-Site Construction (Joinery) who enjoys the challenges that his job brings him daily. He has shown outstanding skill at meeting his responsibilities, shows a high level of pride in his work and enjoys seeing the finished product on display for all to see. Ethan’s employers have recognised his attributes and have given him the responsibility of looking after a new apprentice, to whom he can pass the valuable skills he has learnt. Ethan has planned his future carefully, demonstrating to the judge that he is going to be an integral and enduring part of the building and construction industry in his local area.
