BSB51315 – Diploma of Work Health and Safety

The Diploma of Work Health and Safety course is suitable for people who coordinate and maintain the Work Health and Safety (WHS) program in an organisation. It reflects the role of practitioners who apply a substantial knowledge base and well-developed skills in a wide variety of WHS contexts.
If you coordinate and maintain work health and safety (WHS) policies and initiatives or are looking for a WHS management, or otherwise senior role, this program is for you. You will develop a sound knowledge of WHS competencies for planning, implementing and evaluating your own work and the work of others with safety responsibilities.

The course covers a broad range of health and safety functions and responsibilities in the workplace including:

  • Defining the role of incident investigation
  • Legal/legislative requirements Safety
  • Organisational development of WHSMS & polices & procedures

Entry Requirements:
All core units in the BSB41415 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent competencies:

  • BSBWHS402 Assist with compliance with WHS laws
  • BSBWHS403 Contribute to implementing and maintaining WHS consultation and participation processes
  • BSBWHS404 Contribute to WHS hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control
  • BSBWHS405 Contribute to implementing and maintaining WHS management systems
  • BSBWHS406 Assist with responding to incidents

Mode and Duration:
Classroom based with Monthly workshops over 10 – 12 months.
